During the past decade, Lummus Corporation, through both independent product development and cooperative work with the USDA-ARS Cotton Ginning Laboratories, has introduced a variety of both new products and product upgrades for the cotton ginning industry.  Both the Sentinel™ II Lint Cleaner and the Series 2000™ High-Speed Roller Gin were the result of groundbreaking work with the USDA-ARS Gin Lab in Mesilla Park, NM and target fiber quality preservation.  Other products and upgrades, such as new electrical controls (consoles, gin/feeder controls, remote operator interfaces, and performance monitoring capability), improved burner and moisture unit controls, new hydraulic power systems for baling presses, and gin stand conversion/upgrade packages, have been developed to meet the ginning industry's need for improved throughput and efficiency, reduced operating costs, and to address machinery and component obsolescence, which has been and will continue to be a critical issue.  All these products share a common goal of striving to keep U.S. cotton and the American ginner competitive in an ever-increasingly fierce world market.
