Several factors can influence cotton production following corn in rotation in the Mid-South.  Climatic factors such as rainfall and temperature have the greatest influence on biological activity in the soil and thus have the greatest influence on N transformations and potential loss mechanisms.  This presentation will outline potential factors that are influenced by crop rotation and will discuss lont-term potential effects.
