A study was done to 1) determine how the length parameters of a medium staple upland cultivar would be affected by the possible range of ginning and lint cleaning parameters with a focus on short fiber content, 2) establish the length parameters of the fiber lost to lint cleaner trash with increasing levels of lint cleaning and 3) determine how changes in fiber length distribution affected textile processing.
