One of the most effective programs to control glyphosate-resistant Palmer amaranth in no-till cotton has been an early preplant application of flumioxazin followed by fomesafen preemergence.  Flumioxazin and fomesafen are both PPO inhibitors, and weed scientists are becoming increasingly concerned over the potential for PPO resistance.  Research focused on comparing one versus two PPO inhibitors early in the season will be discussed.
