Plastic contamination found in ginned cotton lint is a significant issue for gins and producers when bales are discounted with a contamination call. This problem has come to light more recently with the introduction of plastic module wrap. While the module wrap is likely the majority of the plastic, field contamination can cause issue is that plastic is harvested and resides in the center of a module. This study examines the potential use of drones for detection of the field contaminates as an additional tool for precision ag drone companies.
