This presentation will describe a cost-effect wireless sensor network that was developed at Clemson University to automate irrigation of a cotton field based on real-time soil moisture data from sensors installed in the field. The system was constructed in 2019 and was successfully tested to irrigate a cotton field using a subsurface drip irrigation system.
