Potassium is a key nutrient in cotton production. Studies have shown that potassium can improve boll set, Fiber quality, and reduce the presence of disease. Uptake of potassium can be effected by soil moisture among other factors. 

A field experiment was done to test three different potassium rates in irrigated and non irrigated land using two varieties of cotton, NexGen 3994 and NexGen 5711.
