As the long term central data repository and analysis resource for the cotton community, the CottonGen database hosts, manages, curates, analyses and integrates large amounts of published genomic, genetic and breeding data to enable cotton research discovery and crop improvement.  With the recent increase in the whole genome assembly data, germplasm descriptions, pedigrees, phenotype data from breeding trials, integrated with QTLs, genotypic data, and genetic maps, CottonGen provides a powerful platform that facilitates knowledge discovery and cotton improvement.  In this presentation, examples will be used to demonstrate how to use CottonGen in cultivar development.
