The response of modern cotton cultivars to variable rates and timings of mepiquat is hypothesized to vary.  The objective of this research was to quantify the response of modern cultivars produced within Tennessee to variable rates and timings of mepiquat chloride.  Passive, moderate and aggressive rates were applied at two timings.  Results suggest cultivars vary slightly in their responses to plant growth regulators.  This information can be used to suggest rates and timings in commercial production.
