At the 2012 Beltwide Cotton Conference, an overview of Cotton Incorporated’s Ag. Research investments from 1958 to 1997 was provided by Kater Hake, Vice President Ag. and Env. Research. During that time period, over 1,500 projects to improve cotton production profitability were funded by Cotton Incorporated. These projects were categorized into 20 research areas and reported in 5-year increments showing major shifts over that 40 year period. Dramatic funding shifts and deliverables were highlighted.
Since 1997, the Ag. Research funding has expanded dramatically with more projects, more cooperators and more total funding. These recent changes will be reported along with the 2015 producer priority survey that will guide future funding allocations.
