There is continuing societal pressure to reduce the amount of chemicals used in crop production. Heat has been shown to be a functional means of harvest preparation, but expensive. This research explores a potential desiccation treatment that uses less energy by heating only the stalks. This presentation reports preliminary field trials conducted in Lubbock, TX.
