Environmentally Smart Nitrogen (ESN) 2013 Research Review

This is a review of University conducted research trials and demonstration plots with University and private cooperators during the 2013 growing season using ESN.  A total of 10 small plot research trials  were conducted across the belt from Virginia to Arizona, and focused on rates, timing of application, and blends with other sources of nitrogen.  Data collected from these trials includes plant growth measurements, soil and tissue sampling, yield, and fiber quality.  Additionally, economic evaluation will be conducted on many of these trials.  This talk will focus on plant growth differences, yield effects, and fiber quality differences found as a result of these trials.  In-season soil and tissue sample results will be discussed, as well as differences observed among soil types.
