A cut down 46 saw Continental Double Eagle saw gin stand was used to test several different gin saw tooth designs. Included in the test was the standard Continental gin saw tooth as well as several other commercial suppliers of gin saws for Continental saw gin stands. Significant differences were found in baled raw fiber quality and gin stand processing rate between the tooth designs tested. Significant differences were also found in textile processing parameters for both open end and ring spinning. This presentation will concentrate primarily on the textile processing portion of the test.
