Setting an Action (Boll Protection) Threshold for Verde Plant Bug Management, Based On Insect Density, Green Boll Injury, or Both

Verde plant bug feeds on and may introduce cotton boll rot into green cotton bolls.  This feeding may result in at-harvest damage to the cotton lint.  Data from a field survey and controlled field cage experiments manipulating verde plant bug pressure were used to verify whether in-season insect density and/or green boll injury can be used to establish an action (boll protection) threshold for verde plant bug.
