We have been using two BAC libraries to identify BACs from chromosome 11 and homoeolog 21 with BAC-end derived SSR markers (cv. Maxxa library) and SSR markers associated with root-knot nematode resistance (cv NemX library).  Complete sequence of these BACs has been annotated with a focus on R gene and related  classes. Similar annotation of all mapped markers on these chromosomes has also been made. Interest in these chromosomes derives from their abundance of nematode and pathogen resistance trait determinants. There is an interest to map these BACs on these chromosomes in efforts to expand their genetic and physical framework.
