We report preliminary data for detecting the presence of Rotylenchulus reniformis directly from soil. Detection was achieved without prior extraction of the nematodes from the soil. This data is a step towards achieving a molecular diagnostic assay that can reduce the hands on time needed to detect the nematode in field soils.
