Development of a Simple Genetic Engineering Procedure to Study Root Physiology and Pathogens in Cotton

A plant genetic engineering strategy has been developed, allowing for the expression of genes in roots of cotton. By using this procedure, genes involved in general aspects of root physiology or even root-pathogen interactions can be tested to determine their function.
