Two experiments were installed, being one in Laboratory and other in greenhouse conditions with the objective of verifying the activity of the insecticide classified as Selective Feeding Blocker (pymetrozine) on the control and behavior of the boll weevil, Anthonomus grandis, for use in the cotton crop as alternative to the use of older insecticides and of larger toxicity as organophosphates and pyrethroids. It was ended that the pymetrozine will efficiently be able to be used in the control of the boll weevil in cotton.
