Tarnished plant bug, Lygus lineolaris Palisot de Beauvois, infestations in Louisiana cotton are expressing resistance to many insecticides currently used for their control. A new insecticide, sulfoxaflor (Transform 50WP), is being developed by Dow AgroSciences and was tested against native infestation of this pest in North Louisiana cotton fields.   Sulfoxaflor has demonstrated satisfactory control of insecticide-resistant tarnished plant bug and field performance equal to or better than the currently recommended standard products.
