We investigated the response of 6 cotton genotypes (3 reniform-resistant: LONREN-1, LONREN-2, and a resistant experimental line developed from LONREN germplasm; and 3 reniform-susceptible: FM966 and DP555, and a susceptible experimental line developed from LONREN germplasm) to 6 levels of reniform nematode inoculation density: 0, 500, 1000, 5000, 10,000 and 50,000 at juvenile or vermiform stage per 150 cc of soil. Plants were inoculated one week after germination and incubated for 60 days. Data were collected on reniform reproduction and plant growth parameters, including root mass. Results indicate loss of root mass at high inoculation levels for the resistant lines and increased root mass for the susceptible lines.
