True bugs (plant bugs and stink bugs) have become major pests of cotton, and their potential for damage can be elevated by vectoring boll-rotting organisms.  This introductory talk will present the reasons why bugs have become a problem in cotton, outline the current management approaches, and introduce the potential for disease transmission that magnifies feeding injury and losses caused by bugs.
