Three sampling methods were used to collect cotton lint from multiple cotton plots. The three sampling methods were: grab samples, 25-boll samples and 50-boll samples. HVI data was obtained for each sampling method separately and then compared to data obtained by harvesting the entire plot and obtaining whole plot HVI data using a micro-gin. Comparisons were made to determine if a significant difference existed between cotton sampling methods and also to determine which sampling method most closely resembled whole plot data.
