Volunteer cotton poses several challenges for cotton producers that are in the Texas Boll Weevil Eradication Program and rotate cotton and grain crops.  Trials were established in two areas where boll weevil continues to be a problem.  Various pre- and post-emergence corn, sorghum, and wheat herbicides were screened for activity in controlling volunteer Roundup Ready Cotton.  Postemergence herbicides were applied 5-6 true leaf, 1/3 grown square stage, 1/3 grown boll stage.  Percent control of volunteer cotton and prevention of fruit development will be reported.
