Southern root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne incognita) is a major pathogen of cotton. In this study, we compared three cotton defoliation methods to determine the effect of mowing cotton stalks and post-harvest herbicide application on reducing the reproduction of southern root-knot nematode on post-harvest cotton roots. By doing this, the initial population of nematode in the following year could be reduced and thus a better control.
