Argus Spark Detectors are used in textile mills around the world as part of fire prevention/extinguishing systems. Recently this technology has been adopted by a growing number of cotton gins.
This presentation will discuss the technical aspects of spark detection and fire prevention strategies for cotton gins. An overview and demonstration of the Argus spark detector will be given, followed by control options for acting on alarms. Case studies from the 2009 gin season will be included, providing real world examples for the audience.
