Concepts of IRM and Applicaton to the Lygus Problem

Caydee Savinelli, Syngenta, 410 Swing Rd., Greensboro, NC 27409

IRAC was formed in 1984 and is a specialist technical group of CropLife America. It provides a coordinated crop protection industry response to prevent or delay the development of resistance in insect and mite pests. Our aim is to keep all classes of insecticides and acaricides as viable control options. IRAC, U.S. is actively involved in the education and communication of IRM strategies and insecticide mode of action labeling. The neonicotinoid subcommittee of IRAC, U.S. has developed resistance management guidelines for the use of the neonicotinoid class of chemistry. The education subcommittee of IRAC, U.S. has worked closely with the Southern IPM Center to develop education materials on resistance management and insecticide mode of action classification for products used on cotton. For additional information about IRAC, visit the website: www.irac-online.org.
