Effects of the Protein Enhancer Chaperone Alone and in Combination with the Foliar Fertilizer CoRoN on Yield and Fiber Quality of Cotton

Carlos J. Fernandez and Carlos Correa. Texas Agricultural Experiment Station, 10345 Agnes St., Corpus Christi, TX 78406

This study evaluated the effects of the protein enhancer Chaperone on cotton yield and fiber quality when applied alone and in tank mix with the foliar fertilizer CoRon 25-0-0. The study was conducted at a commercial farm in Nueces County, Texas during the 2005 growing season. Treatments were applied at early bloom and mid bloom and included single and double applications of Chaperone at 5.0 oz./acre, CoRon at 0.5 gal./ac, and their combined rates. Results from this study showed that Chaperone alone and CoRoN alone or in combination increased yields. Analysis of the effects on fiber properties is pending.
