USDA-ARS has launched the Partnerships for Data Innovation (PDI) to use innovative technologies to increase the efficiency of data collection and provide scientists new tools to visualize their data sets.  The PDI Cotton program brings together a variety of agricultural technologies from Microsoft, ESRI, AgVoice, AgCROS, and Ag Data Commons to help researchers and producers get the most from their resources.  The PDI cotton program is a joint effort of ARS, universities, Cotton Incorporated, and other sectors of the cotton industry.  The current PDI cotton prototype field data collection system is based on ArcGIS Survey 123. This presentation will provide an overview of the current pilot project and inform those in the entomological research community of possibilities for future involvement in the development of this program.
