Research was conducted to detect and assess low rates of 2,4-D herbicide injury in cotton using a multispectral sensor mounted on a UAV. Cotton is highly sensitive to 2,4-D even at very low rates and exhibits visible injury within hours after exposure. Seven 2,4-D treatments were applied to cotton two weeks after first square. Various vegetation indices at different spatial resolutions were used to distinguish between the low rates of 2,4-D treated cotton and the untreated.
