Organic Cotton: Production and Market Trends in the U.S. and Globally

This paper will address what organic cotton means, trends in its global and U.S. production, markets for organic cotton products, the status of certification programs, and farmers research needs. We will also address current pesticide and fertilizer use trends as well as both brand and institutional adoption of sustainability goals as part of the expanding number of sustainability-focused initiatives.
