Evaluation of ammonia volatilization losses and lint yield of different fertilizer sources in cotton production systems using replicated small plots has been limited to non-existent. The objective of this trial was to (i) quantify ammonia volatilization from the N sources using a semi-closed chamber method and (ii) evaluate cotton response to N sources on lint yield of dryland cotton. The trial was set up as a RCBD with 3 treatments and replicated four times. The N source treatments include (i) Urea, (iii) Environmental Smart Nitrogen (ESN), and (iv) Urea Ammonium Nitrate (UAN) applied at 90 lbs. N/acre.
