Examination of Cotton Maturity Distribution Using FTIR Spectroscopy

This talk will cover our preliminary efforts at measuring cotton maturity and maturity distribution using an FTIR imaging system. A comparison of average maturity values for the set of 30 cottons obtained with a Cottonscope and from determinations  with the IR imaging system showed strong linearity and a R² value of 0.95.
