F2 Screen for Vip3Aa Resistance in Field Populations of Helicoverpa Zea (Boddie) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) in Texas, USA

Here, we used light trap method to conduct the first F₂ screen study on estimating the resistance allele frequency of Vip3Aa in H. zea in Texas. We provide the first documentation of a major resistance allele conferring Vip3Aa resistance in a field-derived strain of H. zea in the U.S. Information generated from this study should be useful in the sustainable use of the Vip3Aa technology for management of H. zea.
