F2 Screen for Vip3Aa Resistance in Field Populations of Helicoverpa Zea (Boddie) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) in Texas, USA

Here, we used light trap method to conduct the first F2 screen study on estimating the resistance allele frequency of Vip3Aa in H. zea in Texas. We provide the first documentation of a major resistance allele conferring Vip3Aa resistance in a field-derived strain of H. zea in the U.S. Information generated from this study should be useful in the sustainable use of the Vip3Aa technology for management of H. zea.
