In collaboration with USDA-APHIS and Texas A&M University, several molecular-based diagnostic tools are being developed to accurately distinguish boll weevils from other weevil species captured in traps, and to determine the geographical origin of trap-captured weevils in re-infested areas.  This poster provides an overview of the application of these tools.
