During the 2018 growing season, the National Cottonseed Treatment program assessed the survival of cotton seedlings grown in 12 different locations, by 9 cooperators, across the U.S. Cotton Belt. Locations varied in their environmental conditions and level of pathogen populations. This year, chemical company representatives nominated 8 seed treatments for evaluation against 3 controls. Each cooperator used a randomized complete block experimental design to distribute the treatments throughout their field plots. Stand counts, weather data, seedling samples, and soil samples were analyzed in conjunction with the nominated fungicide treatments to determine the impact of each treatment on seed treatment efficacy, stand persistence, and growth development.
