Calculating Infrared Maturity Indexes for Cotton Using a Focal Plane Array Detector

Infrared methods for estimating cotton fiber maturity have been proposed. These infrared indexes rely on changes observed in the vibrational spectra of cotton fiber as they develop. Our research seeks to adapt these principles using a Mid-IR focal plane array detector with high spatial distribution. Our current efforts will covered in the talk.
