The microbiome of the cotton bollworm, Helicoverpa zea, was examined from caterpillars collected from conventional cotton versus WideStrike cotton.  The conventional cotton was grown in the same field as WideStrike.  A discussion of implications of our findings overall on the molecular biology of the bollworm relative to BT resistance will be discussed.
