Whiteflies were monitored weekly at 125 sites throughout southern Georgia using yellow sticky cards. A total of 5 different whitefly species were detected and abundance of silverleaf whitefly was generally very low until August when populations rapidly increased. In the early spring, the dewberry whitefly was evident at roadside locations where dewberry hosts were present. For most of the rest of the year, silverleaf whitefly was the most abundance species. Traps placed near cotton fields tended to exhibit more captures than traps placed near non-hosts such as pine trees or pastureland.
