A field experiment to test fertilizing cotton with N, P and K by yield goal was conducted at 5 locations in Georgia in 2017 and 2018. Rates of N, P and K applied together (not separately) were increased with increasing yield goals going from 1.5 bale to 4 bale in 0.5 bale increments. Results from 2017 showed that increased fertilizer rates up to the 3 bale yield goal resulted in increased yields up to that point.  Even at locations where the higher yield goals up to 3 bale were not reached, the cost of extra fertilizer was covered by the increase in yield. Results from 2018 will also be presented. Unfortunately only 2 locations were harvested before Hurricane Michael arrived in Georgia on October 10, so 3 out of 5 locations in 2018 may have been lost.
