Research was conducted in 2017 and 2018 at two locations in Mississippi to determine the optimal application timing(s) of chloroacetamide herbicides (s-metolachlor, acetochlor) in dicamba-resistant cotton production systems. Palmer amaranth control, density, and biomass were evaluated at multiple timings along with cotton height, canopy closure, and yield. Results are intended to guide producers in their use of chloroacetamide herbicides as one part of a more comprehensive and integrated weed management program.
