Development of Stoneville Air-Bar Cotton Lint Cleaner

A prototype of new cotton lint cleaner was developed and tested in USDA-ARS Cotton Ginning Research Unit in Stoneville, MS. The new lint cleaner used a air-bar to replace the conventional metal bar in the cleaning process. Pressured air was supplied to the air-bar. Cotton lint was cleaned by the air flow from the nozzles of the air-bar. Performance of the new air-bar lint cleaner has been tested. The testing results will be reported in this presentation.
