A core set of 115 SSR markers will be used to genotype 50 new G. hirsutum accessions recently donated to the US National Cotton Germplasm Collection (NCGC) from an African cotton breeding program. Genotypes of these 50 accessions will be compared to 50 G. hirsutum accessions from Africa currently available from the NCGC.  A diversity analysis will determine how the donated accessions relate to those currently available in the Collection based on SSR genotypes.
