Fungal endophytes have previously been shown to affect hemipteran host plant selection behavior. We conducted Y-tube olfactometer behavioral assays and showed that two different species of stinkbug exhibited differential responses to volatile cues from endophyte treated and untreated control plants. Interestingly, the two stinkbug species did not respond in the same manner to olfactory cues from the treated and untreated plants.
