The Soxhlet extraction has been the conventional method of choice to extract wax from cotton. Although this method is quite reproducible and effective, currently it requires excess time, solvent, and sample amount. The accelerated solvent extraction (ASE) method offers the alternative of shorter extraction time, smaller sample amount, and less use of solvent. Pressure is one dimension that greatly affects extraction yields and cycle time. This study will exploit this property and offer a contemporary extraction method for the textile community.
