A study was conducted in Starkville, Mississippi to evaluate the performance of various moderate and aggressive harvest aid programs in different Phytogen® cotton cultivars. Applications were made when cotton plants had on average 60% open bolls. Treatments consisted of moderate and aggressive rates of ethephon, thidiazuron plus S,S,S-Tributyl Phosphorotrithioate, and thidiazuron plus ethephon. Harvest aid programs that provide greater defoliation levels may facilitate harvest operations, as well as reduce application costs.
