Flag the Technology: A Virtual Flag Field Trait Marking System Using Your Cell Phone

Flag the Technology is a field marking program using a physical flag in the field that represents a specific trait. This program is an accepted practice in many areas to reduce the risk of misapplication of herbicide. The Flag the Technology practice will also make the applicator aware of sensitive crops adjacent to the field being sprayed.  Recent herbicide registrations of dicamba and 2,4-D tolerant crops for controlling herbicide resistant weeds has made identifying fields of sensitive crops even more important.   However, many growers are reluctant to place a flag in the field since they could be removed, laborious, and too visible.
