Blue River Technology has developed a machine to see all the plants in a cotton field and precisely apply herbicide only to the weeds. This technology, called See & Spray, enables farmers to choose any herbicide for in-season management of weeds. The introduction of new modes of herbicide action can help manage herbicide resistant weeds, and spot application can significantly reduce the amount and cost of herbicide applied per acre. Early testing of in-season application of burndown herbicide has shown potential to control herbicide-resistant palmer amaranth up to 24 inches in height at time of application.
