As cotton lint yields have increased, ginners have seen a decrease in seed size. Accordingly, seed volume is also reduced.  Smaller seed can pose problems in ginning such as being pulled through the gin ribs and removed at the lint cleaner with increased potential for seed coat fragments.  The panel will look at trends in seed size and steps being taken to successfully gin small seed varieties.
