This presentation will detail efforts to image cotton fiber bundles using Infrared spectrometer, and focal plane array detector and single reflectance unit. This type of imaging combines spectral analysis with spatial resolution to create visual images that examine sample composition and distribution. This system will be used to examine cell wall development in a fiber bundle. Additionally its potential use in determining cotton fiber maturity (ratio) will be explored and discussed.
