Two laboratory bioassays were used to test field populations of the tarnished plant bug for development of resistance to common insecticides in the Mississippi Delta. Field populations from 7 locations in the mid-South were tested in 2016. The LC50 values were calculated for acephate, permethrim, imidacloprid, thiamethoxam, and sulfoxaflor for vial and diet assay methods. Results were compared between essays for each chemical among feral populations and a laboratory control.
